Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is a practice that combines physical movements and postures with breathing techniques, with a focus on a healthy physical body and a sound, calm mind. All of the yoga classes offered at Roots and Wings are based on the Hatha Yoga practice, including Svaroopa Yoga, Kripalu Yoga, and Synergy Yoga. Some teachers prefer to use the name of the specific style of Hatha yoga that they teach, and others prefer to use the original name of Hatha yoga as their description.

Kripalu Yoga

Tune in and connect with yourself and your breath while exploring Hatha yoga postures. Modifications and variations taught to complement various physical abilities and body types.

Svaroopa® Yoga

A unique and transformational style of Hatha Yoga renowned for resolving chronic back pain, while cultivating a quiet mind and peaceful spirit. Release long held spinal tension using supportive props and alignments. "Deeper" is for those experienced in this style of yoga or currently taking a Svaroopa® Yoga class.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Open the physical and energetic bodies and quiet the mind, as you flow with breath and movement. Vinyasa Flow Yoga classes are very different from one another, as part of the practice is about creativity and exploration.

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini yoga focuses on awakening kundalini energy. In this class, we weave in meditation, pranayama, chants and yoga postures.
