Katherine continues to love teaching yoga as she has done for over 10 years. Her yoga teaching style has evolved to include creativity, intuition, fluidity, skillfullness, meditation and fun! Her intention is to provide a yogic experience which truly helps us to reconnect with the sacredness of our souls and our lives. Katherine has a profound commitment to teach to the deepest spiritual levels of yoga by engaging the body as the gateway to the soul.
Katherine teaches classes (up to 10 per week) in all types of settings e.g. corporate, private, wellness centers, and senior housing. Recently she co-facilitated teaching yoga/meditation/spiritual poetry to Framingham public school teachers funded by a Framingham Education Foundation grant.
As a long time meditator, Katherine has developed and taught meditation workshops at several healing arts and yoga centers. The meditative aspect of yoga is deeply integrated into her yoga classes.
As a graduate of the School of Conscious Healing (Sedona, Arizona), a three year program in Healing Energy Medicine, Katherine offers individual healing sessions and includes healing, energetic openings as part of the yoga classes. She is a certified massage therapist, and also works as a personal trainer (certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine). Holding a BS in human nutrition, Katherine works as a nutritionist and teaches monthly nutrition classes to the inmates at the Framingham Woman's Prison, MCI. In service to holistic health, she often brings the latest nutrition information to her yoga students as well.
"Yoga with Katherine is truly a wonderful experience - I come away from each class stretched, strengthened, renewed and in touch with both my body and spirit. Katherine is a gifted yoga teacher who touches all in her class with a deep sense of peace and joy."
- Suzy Ascher 2010
"[...when] Katherine plays a calming melody on her Tibetan bowl, my body and mind relax and my heart and soul begin to expand and drink in the love of a class of fellow students in deep connection with spirit. To the ending changing of "OM," I am transported to a place of peace, tranquility, and joy.
"Thank you to Karen and to the staff of Roots and Wings for providing such a comfortable, warm space that allows me to experience the integrative, heart-opening teachings of Katherine McClean."
