Upon what legal, ethical, and historic platform do holistic and new age practitioners base their legitimacy? What moral lines were drawn in the fertile Victorian Era East Cost earth and psyche that formed a baseline upon which mediums, psychics, and healers are allowed to legally practice today?

Part I: February 22nd

Explore Modern Spiritualism's birth on March 31, 1848 in Hydesville, NY. Follow the path of Kate and Maggie Fox, founding Mediums for Modern Spiritualism, from their Canadian farm birthplace as they become spiritual advisors to presidents and royalty. Robin weaves an intriguing, factual, and animated tale of the leaders who stood with the Fox sisters at the crossroads of the Industrial Revolution, Woman's Suffrage Movement, & Abolition. You will feel you know Kate, Maggie, and their older sister Leah, as you learn about their personal beliefs, intense loves, heartaches, dreams, and addictions as they created what we now know as s?ances & mediumistic readings.

Cost: $25 per workshop or $40 for both (Part II: February 29th)

Part II: February 29th

Follow Andrew Jackson Davis's Harmonialism and healing through Mesmerism (hypnosis), Sir Arthur Crookes's investigations with physical mediumship, and Alexander Aksakof's scientific experiments as they played first string in the development of Modern Spiritualism as a religion, philosophy, and science. Once England's author of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his mediumistic wife, Lady Jane Doyle, became Spiritualists, they worked to codify and demystify the practice of mediumship on their side of the pond and ours. The Doyles' work moved the 1848 nascent of Spiritualism into a sophisticated, but tangible practice with trained ministers, formal policy, and prescriptions for certification. ] The work in between World War I & II gave modern day holistic practitioners the legal framework to establish legitimate practices in the 21st century.
