WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR YOUR LIFE-LONG LEARNING & GROWTH IN THE NEW YEAR?

The Labyrinth Roundtable hosted by Cheryl Perreault, provides a forum to learn more about oneself and about our world and its people including topics addressing our creativity, our potential for well-being and inter-being, the science and nature of our planet and our potential to explore spirituality and the mystery of life.

Join us on 1/9 for a special Roundtable with guest: Jayashree Sengupta speaking about "living with an open heart."

I am wounded and whole, confident yet vulnerable, organized and messy, creative and compulsive, flawed yet falling in love with my own spirit as I find connection with its source. -Jayashree Sengupta

I am Jayashree (Joya) Sengupta. I grew up in India and came to the US at the age of 17 to pursue higher education, then a career, then marriage, bringing forth two children into the world, then divorce, and a period of reclaiming my identity over the last 3 years. It seems I've been moving through the chapters of life, agony, joy and fearlessness all bundled together, with momentum, courage and an openness for new lessons learned. As an immigrant I straddle two cultures, balancing a strong connection with my family in India while I raise two children in the Boston area, a day job doing strategy and planning at Harvard University while mentoring young women in India to dare forward. Last August on my visit to India, I held a life class with 700 high school girls at my Alma Mater. It was a powerful experience, sharing my story and inward journey and inspiring these young girls to look at themselves in a new way, having them stand up, one by one, to claim their wounds, their dreams, lifting us all up with profound grace. I knew then that it was my calling tp and I have been actively working on a plan since then to build a organization that empowers young Indian women to dare forward. -Jayashree Sengupta

Through stories and discussion, Joya will share her journey and lessons learned and invite you to share moments of vulnerability and courage in your own lives, so we may see ourselves in one another's stories and recognize the common truths. We are all imperfect yet beautiful, so rather than judging ourselves and others, being open to joy, being grateful for the gift of life and the daily wonder of being here, we can recreate our view of the world, flooding ourselves and those around us with love.

Following this talk offered in a TED-style storytelling context within an intimate setting, participants will be invited to engage in a 10 minute contemplative writing exercise. The last part of the Roundtable consists of inviting participants to offer a few minutes of their observations, stories, experiences or share from their writing as it relates to further deepen and enrich the learning experience of the Roundtable topic. Taking place at The Nest at Roots and Wings Yoga and Healing Arts Studio in Natick.

The participation fee ($20) may be paid at the door.
