Wednesdays (next: 3/13, guest: Cari Ryding)
7:00—8:30 pm

The Labyrinth Roundtable hosted by Cheryl Perreault, provides a forum to learn more about oneself and about our world and its people including topics addressing our creativity, our potential for well-being and inter-being, the science and nature of our planet and our potential to explore spirituality and the mystery of life.

Join us on 2/6 for a special Roundtable with guest: Cari Ryding. Cari will be speaking about FACING LIFE CHANGES, FINDING LIFE MEANING: MY JOURNEY AND WORK IN ONCOLOGY AND ENERGY HEALING

"From the age of 15, I knew I wanted to be a nurse. I went to BC as an undergrad and began practicing in 1989. Because of my ongoing curious nature and thirst for learning, I went to graduate school quickly and received my Masters in Nursing in 1993. When my grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer, I discovered the powerful role that nursing had in bringing comfort and peace to those going through cancer. That started my journey as an oncology nurse which continues today. My experience spans inpatient oncology care, bone marrow transplant, hospice, outpatient ambulatory care and now I oversee the breast cancer unit at DFCI in Boston. Through my experience with my patients, I saw that there was only so much that modern medicine could do to bring a sense of healing and care to people. Mirroring in my home life was many challenging struggles that also left me feeling alone and unable to grasp how to feel better. Old wounds from my parents divorce, an emotionally abusive marriage and a child with mental health struggles also became my greatest teachers. I began a search to find wholeness through integrative therapies like meditation, energy healing and spiritual practices. I created my own energy healing practice eight years ago working with individuals and teaching classes. While I continue this now, I am also passionate about bringing integrative therapies into the medical setting as well."

Following this talk offered in a TED-style storytelling context within an intimate setting, participants will be invited to engage in a 10 minute contemplative writing exercise which is followed by an opportunity to contribute thoughts, experiences and writing observations. Taking place in the Heartwood Room at Roots and Wings Yoga and Healing Arts Studio in Natick.

Admission fee is $15 and may be paid at the door. PLEASE NOTE: Seats for this program are limited. To reserve your spot, please RSVP to Cheryl Perreault in advance as space is limited:
