Workshop 1, Feb. 24
Finding the Ground: Your Feet

Your feet are the unsung heroes of your skeleton. You use them throughout the day,yet pay little attention to them until they start complaining.

Imagine that your feet were as skillful as your hands. How would you balance? Walk? Run?

Come to this Feldenkrais® workshop to clarify your awareness of and improve your use the structure and function of your feet.

Fun fact: you have no ankles! Those knobs above your feet are the ends of your tibia and fibula bones. And nestled between your lower legs and your feet are your talus bones. Think of them as a platform to help you glide your skeleton forward and backward above your feet: super cool!

You learn most movement practices from the outside in, by imitation. The Feldenkrais Method invites you to learn from the inside out. Take your discoveries into another movement practice or into your everyday life.

Moving from Your Power Center: Your Pelvis

Your pelvis is your power center. Yet most of us don't reliably access our innate strength. The result: back pain, sciatica, and more.

Bring awareness to how you use your hip joints and sacrum, and their relationship to the rest of your skeleton. If you'd like to sit, stand and walk with greater ease, you'll benefit from this workshop.

Fun fact: you have no "pelvis." You actually have a three-part structure: your sacrum in the center, surrounded by what we're calling your ischial wings. Because there's no word in the English language for them!

Climbing Higher: Your Arms, Shoulders & Hands

What if your arms could feel like wings?

Join us to clarify use of your shoulder girdle, arms, and hands. Uncover hidden connections between your fingers and your arm pits, between your shoulder blades, through your arms. Taste the possibility of your shoulder girdle floating on your thorax.

Your shoulders are ball-and-socket joints, like your hip joints. Most us overuse our shoulders and arms, and under-utilize the power of our pelvic girdle, low back, and legs. Discover how to re-distribute the work, so your big muscles and bones do their job.
