Hello. My name is Cindy Gittleman and I am a Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Instructor. I was trained at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at UMass in Shrewsbury, and after teaching the MBSR program independently for several years, was invited to return there to teach. I established Sunrise Mindfulness as a means of assisting people in living more fully, both personally and professionally, through the use of mindfulness practices. Mindfulness has been a major part of my life for quite some time and I am delighted to help others similarly access their own inner resources.

My professional life began as a classical musician. After freelancing in the metropolitan New York area for about 10 years, I gravitated toward the field of psychology. I love to learn and earned two Masters degrees and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies. I worked in the field of psychology for 16 years, first as a therapist with underserved patient populations, and later in the areas of psychological, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological assessment.

In addition to teaching at Sunrise Mindfulness, I currently teach at eMindful. I am also a Certified Hatha Yoga teacher and Yin Yoga teacher, and offer workshops in mindfulness-based stress reduction, mindful yoga, and mindfulness meditation in the Greater Boston area. Finally, I have an unassuming, down-to-earth personality and love to laugh. I look forward to working with you!
