A couple of years ago, In Israel, I offered a workshop in Reflexology for mothers, babies and toddlers. After the workshop a man walked over and began asking me many questions about Reflexology. He asked, how does Reflexology work? Who benefits? Is there a specific problem that Reflexology helps? The man was Dr. Lampit Meir, a specialist for ADD/ADHD Syndrome. He has his own institution that helps kids and adults. I let the doctor know that Reflexology is a good solution for people with ADD/ADHD as it works on both the physical and emotional sides. The doctor was suspicious of what he was hearing, but thought to try it in order to help his clients.

I began working in Dr. Lampit Meir’s institution right away and saw many of his clients. The one rule was that no one was allowed to reveal if they were on any medication. This was the doctor’s way of seeing how much the Reflexology worked in comparison to (or in conjunction) with the medication.

During the 1.5 years I worked for Dr. Lampit Meir I used multiple techniques to assist the clients. Communication with both the children and adults was crucial. It was important to understand how the ADD/ADHD was affecting their learning, relationships, etc. Every client received a session where all reflexes were attended to with additional support on the Endocrine and Central Nervous systems. With that being said, each session was also customized to meet the person’s needs based on the feedback from the week prior. Since everyone is different it is important that their sessions be specific to their needs.

The changes were amazing!! Dr. Lampit Meir was seeing the results and began to believe more and more in Reflexology. He shared the results of his "little research” project comparing those on medication and those without.

Bach Flower Remedies along with the Reflexology showed faster results. Clients’ self-esteem improved as well as their ability to learn, focus and read. The Bach Flower Remedies in this case was used to assist with some of the emotional issues brought about by the ADD/ADHD.

“Omer” was a 7 year old boy who could not stay in his classroom for more than 10 minutes. He was always in trouble, bit other kids and was verbally abusive. When Omer first came to see me, our sessions were 10 minutes Reflexology, 10 minutes of exercise and 10 minutes of fun (games, music, etc.) One of the games we played was using a deck of cards that showed emotions. He thought we were playing a unique game. As time went on, we were able to get to a full 30 minute session. Omer began to believe in himself. He was no longer getting into trouble at school. Omer only received Reflexology and Bach Flower Remedies – no medication.

“Ariel” was a good looking 25 year old young man when he began seeing me. His self confidence was low and he had a hard time focusing. Ariel signed up for only 2 courses in the University and was struggling. With Ariel, I used Reflexology, Mediation, Metamorphic Technique (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metamorphic_Technique) and the same deck of cards as with Omer. After 6 month Ariel began dating and taking more classes at the university. Ariel was on medication 1/2 year before we started our Reflexology sessions. Dr. Lampit Meir offered Reflexology an amazing opportunity.

You are welcome to contact me if you want to hear more on this experience.
