Turtle Dance Bodywork

Greg is a licensed, nationally certified massage therapist, offering massage to sooth the soul and free the body from restrictions. He blends his extensive training in Swedish, neuromuscular and myofascial release techniques to create a session tailored to the needs of each individual. His experience with pre- and post-natal massage, and hot stone techniques round out his practice.

Greg believes that mind/body balance is the primary element for maintaining optimum health. He strives to encourage that balance through relief from pain and muscle tension, as well as increasing relaxation and emotional well-being. Greg's style of relaxation massage is a combination of smooth, gliding strokes along with deeper techniques, gentle stretching and movement, all with the intent of freeing the body from restrictions and tension. His neuromuscular work is very deep and specific, an effective approach in cases where chronic pain and reduced function are the primary issue.

His formal training in Ben Benjamin's technique of massage and the sciences at Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge, MA, along with his continued studies in Neuromuscular Technique, prenatal massage, hot stone therapy and watsu have been invaluable, particularly when compounded with the experience he has gained from years of working in various spa and therapeutic settings. "I find that all the different bits and pieces of my education come into play when working on a client. I may be doing a trigger point release on a shoulder or back, and also thinking about acupressure points and meridians, and the potential for commonality in the two approaches."

Greg works regularly with athletes privately and through his volunteer work at the Pan Mass Challenge cancer fundraiser, The Super Sunday 5K, and Boston Marathon. He has worked in the water with cerebral palsy patients, and has provided massage at the Yoga Journal Conference in Boston. Clients include individuals recovering from major surgery and long-term illness, as well as those in need of a "tension tune-up".
