Roots
The complimentary yoga classes for veterans at Roots & Wings are gentle and intended for all ability levels. Each class includes carefully selected therapeutic yoga poses, breathing and meditation practices especially designed to reduce anxiety and other symptoms of combat stress or PTSD and to draw the mind to the present moment, affirm one's self worth, and foster a sense of personal empowerment. Other benefits of the class include increased flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination to support overall health and well-being. The class design is largely based on the highly successful yoga treatment protocol used with U.S. military personnel deployed to Kirkuk, Iraq. Active military personnel are also welcome.
