I was all bubbly and effervescent after class. I saw my kid's eyes sparkle with marvel over my relaxed and clear attitude. -Mariana, mother of 2 two, Cologne, Germany

I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm so glad I found your class. It's made a world of difference in the way that the kids and I interact. -Greg D, father of 3, Austin, TX

Though hard to fit in our lives, play has become much more important in our lives and continues to be a personal journey, which helps us become less "right" and more connected. -Leyla, mother of 3, Austin, TX

This class was critical for me. It helped me to not lose connection with my son in the midst of a very heavy stream of life, by playing with him and listening to know his needs. -SK, mother of a teen, Palo Alto, CA

Play and laughter are two of the most direct routes to connection between people. Play grows creativity, laughter, confidence, intelligence, empathy, problem solving, cooperation, vulnerability, and a sense of belonging. It is key to solving so much of the conflict, stress, disconnection, addiction, and other health issues we are experiencing personally and as a society as a whole.

Play is medicine.

Yet many of us feel like our well of playfulness has run dry.

"I'm no good at playing/ It doesn't come naturally."

It's hard to find time or energy when we have so much on our minds. When we do find time, play may not even feel fun. Our options for play seem to narrow. We have a way of making even things that are intended to be joyful into work.

I love that one of my teachers regularly reminds us, "Have fun! It's just yoga!" She encourages us to say, "Ta da!" in our heads (or out loud) as we move into an asana.

This engaging class is for parents and non-parents.

We'll talk about why play is vital for all of us, not just children and why we adults may feel stuck.

You'll learn ways to loosen up those areas, and get a little more limber when it comes to play.

We'll talk about how rough and tumble physical play (yes! all the way through and beyond the teen years), can help with essential connection, emotional release, brain development, and reducing power struggles.

Additional topics we'll cover:

Examine the messages we got about play

• Play to help you recharge your own battery

• Weaving play into daily sticky moments

• The science behind why play improves cooperation and collaboration

• How play can help you reach your isolated child, friend, or family member

• What to do when your child wants to play games you hate

Yes! It's time to reclaim play in your life!

We'll do some playing of our own, so please wear comfy clothes and bring a soft pillow or two, and an extra pair of loose socks.

Participants will receive my 11 page guidebook, Ten Minutes of Play Can Change the Whole Day, Getting Unstuck and Growing Your Play Muscle.
