How Power Leaks Sabotage Your Otherwise Successful Life, Roots & Wings, events, workshops, yoga studio, Natick, MA

"I was referred to JaiKaur at a time of feeling great despair about my life and feeling hopeless to change it. JaiKaur helped me find my hope again and her faith in me began to grow hope within me as well. JaiKaur's sharing about her life challenges made me realize I am not a bad person, but simply a person without enough support. I am often outside my comfort zone in my work with JaiKaur, but knowing I have JaiKaur's faith in me and her support helps. What a gift it is to have someone hold faith and trust in me that I had lost, and so grateful I am to JaiKaur for holding it until I reclaim the faith and trust back in myself." -Natalia from Wellesley, MA

A power leak is a habit, a boundary issue, or an emotional reaction which drains your energy, confidence, self-trust. Like telling your boss you love his idea when you don't think it will work, laughing when your partner disparages your appearance, agreeing to be on a committee you don't have time and energy for, etc. It's not like you consciously start out the day saying "I'm going to betray myself today, I'm going to undermine myself today, I'm going to not stand up for myself today." Simply your fears win out and your self respect, self confidence, and success in life and love pay the price.

Even if your power leaks seem small or inconsequential, they are costing you what you really want in life. Like saying you want to lose weight and then eating potato chips and dip for lunch. Or knowing taking a walk will make you feel more relaxed but instead calling up a friend to complain about feeling stressed. A power leak doesn't just cost you self esteem and success, it also creates anxiety in your body when you tell yourself something is important to you but then do something else. You tell yourself it's not a big deal to betray yourself here and there but even your nervous system registers this as stress and you can feel overwhelmed, anxious, and drained as a result. Fixing a power leak is work which takes your commitment and courage. And, the people, choices, or habits that drain you will not stop doing so until you make the choice to no longer abandon caring for yourself.

If you have a goal or outcome you aren't making progress with, if you're feeling insecure or like a fraud though your life looks good on the outside, you'll not want to miss this workshop. Learn how to spot a power leak and how to then deal with it. No longer abandon your needs, seek validation from others for the life you want to live, or fail to set the boundaries which take care of the things in your life you care about. Join JaiKaur for this perspective-shifting presentation on how to take better care of yourself and what you seek in life. Pre-registration is required with workshop fee of $50 due at the time of registration.
